With this update, we are further expanding our lead in the e-learning market. We were the first Learning Platform to make it possible to record videos directly in the content editor. This has already enabled our customers to save countless hours, as they do not need a separate tool for video recording and then have to painstakingly upload the video to the platform.

Today, we are taking it one step further and replacing the next tool, making the barrier to recording learning videos even lower and enabling you to create learning content for your Members even faster – because you can now also edit videos directly in LearningSuite!

And we have not just built a simple video cutter that can trim the beginning and end. We went the extra mile and also enable you to cut out speech errors in the middle of the video. And the best part? Not only videos recorded in LearningSuite can be edited, but uploaded videos too.

But the new video cutter is not the only feature you can look forward to in update 1.6!

Video editing:

With the LearningSuite Video Cutter, you can edit any uploaded video as an editor. You can now simply cut out speech errors or trim the beginning and end.

Furthermore, this cutter gives us the opportunity to add many more cool features in the future, such as re-recording individual scenes and adding an intro or outro. So stay tuned! 🚀

Edit video after recording:‍

After recording a video in LearningSuite, you will now be taken directly to the video cutter. If you do not want to make any cuts, you can simply click save right away. Otherwise, you have the option here to trim the beginning and end or cut out speech errors in the middle of the video.

Trim the beginning and end of videos:

To trim the end or beginning, simply use the mouse to drag the section smaller on the left or right of the orange bar.

Remove speech errors with the cutting function:

To cut out a speech error, simply jump to the point where the error occurred and then click the "Cut" button. A cut will then be made at that point, and you can remove the speech error by dragging the section.

View the result directly:‍

To view the result, you can click the play button. You will see the final result displayed directly as a video.

Move individual frames forward or back:

With the arrow buttons next to the play button, you can move individual frames forward or backward. This is especially useful if you want to place your cuts with meticulous precision.

How to edit videos afterwards:

‍To edit videos afterwards, simply click the settings icon in the top right of a video in the editor and then click "Edit video". It is that simple, and the LearningSuite Video Cutter opens!

Share link button:

With the share link button in the top right of the editor, you can now quickly and easily send Members the correct link to the Lesson. Thanks to the shortened links, you can simply copy them and send them to your Member.

Enable the "On request" function:

You can now activate the on-demand function for modules. This allows Members to send you access requests for individual modules they would like to access.

To activate this function, simply go to a Course and click the content drip of a module. There, you will now find the new option: "On request":

This function is ideal for modules that you either want to offer as an upsell or that require specific prerequisites, such as attending a live call.

Members request access to a module:
Members can then send you an access request by clicking "Request" on the module.

As a trainer, you can find access requests from Members under the "Users" tab. There, you will now find a new tab called "Requests". A red notification bubble immediately informs you whether there are new requests in the Course so that you can process them.

You can then either reject requests with a reason or accept them directly. The Member will then receive an email informing them whether they have been granted access or not, including the reason.

End card for videos:

At the end of a video, Members now have the option to go directly to the next Lesson / step or the next task.

Furthermore, the play button at the bottom left is now displayed as the "Watch again" button at the end.

When the Lesson is complete:

If there are no more tasks in the Lesson and you are on the last page, you can now complete the Lesson directly at the end of the video and proceed to the next Lesson.

When there are still submissions in the Lesson:

If there are still submissions in the Lesson that the Member needs to complete, a small window now appears above the video at the end of a video, informing the Member that there are still tasks to complete in this Lesson. When the Member clicks the button, they are automatically scrolled to the next task and the task is highlighted.

When there are more pages in the Lesson:

If there are more pages in the Lesson, this is displayed directly at the end of the video, and you can proceed directly to the next page.

Shortened permanent links:

The links in the Member view are now significantly shorter than before, and the Course name is now also displayed in the links.

Performance Improvements:

Thanks to improvements in the codebase and a new compression method, we were able to speed up the initial loading speed by 300%. This is especially noticeable with slow internet connections.

Further improvements:

• The submissions view is now responsive and also works on smartphones
• Trainer feedback is now also displayed for submissions on the admin page
• Trainer feedback has received a new design
• The link card has received a new design
• The Discord logo has been added to the icons
• Sections and Lessons now have a "Copy to" function that lets you copy the element and move it to another location
• The next-section card after completing a section in the Member view has received a new design
• The HelpCenter is now available in both German and English, depending on the system language
